Privacy notice

The short version: this site sets no cookies, tracks nothing, and loads nothing from third parties.

Who is responsible

Alex Campbell, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland, runs this website and is responsible for any personal data it handles (the "controller" under the GDPR). Contact: hi@alexcampbell.ie.

No tracking

This site uses no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded third-party content, or third-party scripts. I don't profile visitors.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

If you use the theme switch, your choice (light or dark) is saved in your browser's localStorage only to remember your preference. It stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. Because it only stores a setting you asked for, it doesn't need consent under the ePrivacy rules.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which serves the files to your browser. Like any web host, it may log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request, for security and to keep the service running. It does this under its own privacy policy.

Fonts and images

All fonts and images are self-hosted on this site. Your browser makes no requests to Google Fonts or any other third party.

Emailing me

The contact form opens your own email app. Nothing you type into it is sent to or stored by this site.

If you email me, your message is held by your email provider and mine. I keep it only as long as needed to reply, then delete it.

Lawful basis

Where I handle personal data, I rely on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): publishing my professional contact details, and replying to messages you choose to send me.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to data portability, where these rights apply. Email hi@alexcampbell.ie to use any of them. I'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority: www.dataprotection.ie. I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please email me too.
